Again this year, Michigan Works! Service Center is
planning on providing all interested students a two-part
training session on completing job applications, resume writing, and interviewing techniques.
These combined sessions will provide the student with
all the tools necessary to assist them in landing that
“first job”.
Part 1:
In this first session
the student will learn all the important facets of
creating a winning resume and the proper way to complete
a "job application". Students will also
participate in a "do's & don'ts" workshop that will
teach then some of the techniques that will set them
apart from the other interviewees. Students will also have
"hands-on" time to
complete an online resume that employers can search &
review and then contact the prospective employee for a
career placement.
Part 2:
The
second session held on
Thursday, March 11, 2010
starting at 3:30pm, the students will be scheduled to have a brief mock
interview (20 minutes) with an area business person who
will coach the student on tips to improve their
interviewing. Combining the information from these two
sessions will make the student participant a “knock-out
job-seeker”.
Register for MI Works! Service Center on Monday & MI
Works! Service Center on Wednesday. A student must have
participated in the first session, in order to
participate in the second session.
